We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Safety Coordinator to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and health of our employees, as well as compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company safety programs and policies. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to build a culture of safety among the workforce. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, safety training, and be bilingual in Spanish and English.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and monitor company safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
2. Conduct safety training sessions for employees and management on a regular basis.
3. Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
4. Coordinate and lead safety committee meetings and initiatives.
5. Investigate accidents and incidents to identify their causes and find ways to prevent them in the future.
6. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and compile statistics for management review.
7. Stay current with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and communicate any changes to management and employees.
8. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
9. Provide bilingual safety training and support to our diverse workforce.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety coordinator role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in developing and implementing safety programs and policies.
3. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver safety training and information in both English and Spanish.
5. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify safety hazards and develop effective solutions.
6. Ability to lead and motivate a team to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
9. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science or related field is preferred.
10. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification is a plus.
