Join our dynamic team as a Sales Manager in the Food Manufacturing industry. We are a leading manufacturer of food products, specializing in condiments and salad dressings. We're seeking an individual who is passionate about the food industry, possesses a strong background in grocery distribution, and has a proven track record in driving sales and developing new business opportunities. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate must demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills, and have experience working with Big Box Retail Customers and Brokers.
Responsibilities:
As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all sales operations, ensuring that our products reach the shelves of our grocery and big box retail customers.
Your duties will include:
1. Developing and implementing effective sales strategies to drive sales growth in assigned territories and sectors.
2. Managing a network of brokers and serving as the primary contact for Big Box Retail Customers.
3. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand our reach and increase our customer base.
4. Conducting market research to understand the latest industry trends and using insights to inform sales strategies.
5. Collaborating with the manufacturing team to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
6. Solving any customer-related issues or complaints to maintain high customer satisfaction.
7. Providing training and guidance to sales staff and brokers to achieve sales objectives.
Requirements/Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Sales Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Sales Manager or similar role in the Grocery Distribution or Food Manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in managing sales operations for Grocery Stores, Big Box Retail Customers and working with brokers. *Familiar with the process of getting "shelf space" in a store.
3. Demonstrated ability to develop new business and drive new business growth.
4. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Profound knowledge of condiments and salad dressings market.
8. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is preferred, but not required.
