As an SDS/PACU RN, you will be responsible for providing top-quality care and recovery assistance to patients who have undergone surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, plastic, ophthalmic, and oral surgeries. You will work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and will need to be able to make quick decisions in high-stress situations. As an SDS/PACU RN, you will be responsible for providing top-quality care and recovery assistance to patients who have undergone surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, plastic, ophthalmic, and oral surgeries. Responsibilities:
- Provide pre and post-operative care to patients, monitoring vital signs, and administering prescribed medications.
- Evaluate patients' post-operative status at regular intervals and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth transition of care from the operating room to the recovery room.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operation care, potential complications, and methods to promote health and wellness post-surgery.
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records of patients' health histories and the care provided.
- Adhere to all necessary nursing and medical procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of advancements in the field.
Qualifications:
- A valid RN license is required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as an RN is required.
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times.
- A compassionate and approachable personality, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients and their families.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- The ability to handle high-stress situations and make decisions quickly.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- ACLS, PALS, & BLS certifications are required
