Job Details
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This individual will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and assisting with audits and tax filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the distribution or food industry and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
Assist in preparing financial reports for management, identifying trends and providing actionable insights.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and internal controls.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities as needed.
