As a Permanent Senior Accountant in our dynamic finance team, you will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial data. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in month end, franchise, construction, general ledger, and financial reporting. You will be at the forefront of our financial decision-making process, contributing to our overall business strategy and growth. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting, who is eager to take on new challenges and grow with our company. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month-end and year-end close process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
2. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
3. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits, liaising with internal and external auditors as necessary.
5. Handle monthly franchise and construction accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
6. Assist in the formulation of strategic and long-term business plans, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers.
Qualifications
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be considered an advantage.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
3. Proven experience in the finance industry, with a strong understanding of month end, franchise, construction, general ledger, and financial reporting.
4. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
6. Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects and multitask effectively.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. A proactive problem solver who possesses strong decision-making skills.
9. Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team, on multiple projects.
10. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
