We are seeking a Senior Accountant with 3+ years of experience in a public accounting firm to join our Long Island office. This is a diversified role including a healthy mix of General Accounting and Income Tax Preparation. The candidate should possess working knowledge and understanding of GAAP basis presentation of financial statements along with the basic required footnote disclosures and current tax laws. The candidate will be expected to possess effective communication skills, be self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a constantly active environment.

Job Details

Job Responsibilities:

Preparation of tax returns for medium to large sized Corporations and Partnerships.
Preparation of moderately complex tax returns for Individuals with average to high net worth.
Perform various levels of analytic and testing procedures with client prepared records ranging from basic balance comparisons to more advanced trends analysis and reconcile variances found.
Work within a team environment to complete various attestation engagements including audits, reviews and compilations.
Preparation of working papers, correspondence letters and other forms of communication required as part of attestation engagements.
Prepare audited, reviewed or compiled financial statements using the GAAP or Income Tax Basis of accounting.
Interact with various levels of client personnel in order to complete expected tasks at hand.
Assist with the development of lower level staff such as juniors and interns.
Work within a number of different fields simultaneously for both tax and assurance practices.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
3+ years of experience in a CPA firm
CPA is a plus but not required
Experience working with CCH Engagement and TR UltraTax
Proficient in using Microsoft Office
Serviceable knowledge of Intuit QuickBooks
Supervisory experience is a plus
Highly detailed-oriented and organized
Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
Superior analytical and problem solving skills
Able to work independently as well as a being a key part within a team environment
