Job Details

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, the individual will be responsible for general ledger activities including preparation of journals entries and account reconciliations and maintenance of accounting records and supporting schedules. To perform well in the role, the candidate should have strong accounting comprehension and knowledge of GAAP. The individual should be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess problem-solving abilities.

  • Review of period-end close activities including accruals and journal entries
  • Timely completion of account reconciliations, including the ability to research open items and take appropriate action
  • Maintain underlying schedules that are easy to follow and transparent
  • Assist in clean-up of existing accounts and develop support schedules for general ledger accounts
  • Preparation of period-end reports, including ability to analyze and interpret results
  • Assist with year-end audit by providing accurate support as requested
  • Identify and drive process improvements, and develop new processes as necessary
  • Help to develop junior Accounting staff
  • Be a valuable resource to other departments including Sales, Operations, Finance and Marketing
  • Assist Assistant Controller as needed on special projects
  • Ad hoc reporting as requested

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-7 years of relevant work experience in accounting; public accounting experience or CPA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in CPG or manufacturing preferred
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be hands on and take responsibility for deliverables; possess a process improvement mindset
  • Dedication to achieving departmental goals and consistently meet deadlines
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies
  • Team player mindset with accuracy and attention to detail
