Job Details
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Accountant to ensure complete, timely, and accurate accounting and reporting of international accounting results. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and coordinating financial statements for international operations, maintaining fixed assets and inventory, and ensuring compliance with local statutory guidelines and US GAAP reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain and review financial documentation from various departments and local accountants for foreign operations in Norway, Argentina, and other locations as needed.
Evaluate the appropriateness of vendor invoices and incurred liabilities for proper accounting and ensure all necessary accruals are booked for the correct month.
Coordinate intercompany transactions, including inventory and wire transfers, and prepare intercompany reconciliations.
Translate accounting data and accurately perform currency exchange conversions.
Maintain fixed assets, including additions, retirements, transfers, depreciation, and related journal entries as needed.
Reconcile fixed assets and inventory subledgers to the general ledger monthly and coordinate quarterly physical counts.
Evaluate revenue recognition applicable to international operations and apply judgement when evaluating results of these operations.
Participate in internal controls testing and perform special projects as directed or determined on your own initiative.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting is required, with an advanced degree or certification a plus.
A minimum of 3 years of accounting or audit experience, with experience in international accounting and accounting in a manufacturing environment being a plus.
