We are a dynamic company in the finance industry, seeking a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Bookkeeper. This position offers an opportunity to further enhance your skills while working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Your role will be critical in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will be working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
2. Handle full-cycle accounting duties.
3. Code and enter vendor expense invoices.
4. Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account.
5. Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
6. Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements.
7. Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
8. Maintain the chart of accounts.
9. Maintain the annual budget.
10. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
11. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
12. Process payroll in a timely manner.
13. Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
4. Strong knowledge of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
5. Experience with financial statement preparation.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills.
7. Strong attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors.
8. Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
11. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
12. A strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
