Job Details

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including supervision of a part-time AR/AP specialist, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, and cost/inventory analysis to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a part-time accounts receivable/payable specialist
  • Oversee invoicing, payment processing, inbox maintenance, vendor transactions, and annual 1099 reporting
  • Monitor and resolve unmatched receivers; support efforts to maintain healthy A/R aging
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and maintain the cash forecasting tool
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure subledger reports align with the general ledger
  • Manage and update prepaid and accrual schedules, and prepare monthly adjusting entries
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries, including recurring items
  • Support internal and external audits, including preparation and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all relevant tax and regulatory requirements
  • Submit accurate and timely payments to state and local tax authorities
  • Assist in the preparation of franchise tax and property tax filings

Cost Accounting Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver cost reports with key metrics focused on efficiency and profitability
  • Analyze standard vs. actual production costs and identify cost variances and savings opportunities
  • Track inventory (raw materials, WIP, and finished goods) to ensure accurate valuation and optimal levels
  • Review, close, and cost completed work orders weekly and validate open work order statuses
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the finance leadership

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of cost accounting and financial leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead and coach accounting team members
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to balance operational and ad hoc requests
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, general ledger reconciliation, and cash management
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
