Senior Firmware Engineer

We are a Series A biotechnology and software startup that is building a world-class team focused on revolutionizing the way DNA samples are sequenced and prepared.

As a senior firmware engineer on our team, you will be responsible for all of the embedded software/firmware that controls our instruments. In particular, you will own the firmware layer of the embedded software stack. Our tech-stack consists of Python 3, C++, React.js, and Typescript (instrument UI).

Responsibilities:

• Design/Develop firmware to interface with sensors, custom PCBs, data converters, etc.
• Write code that connects hardware/firmware to the rest of the layers
• Develop processes/tool to bring up and field upgrade firmware on system microcontrollers
• Test/debug interfaces to hardware subsystems

MUST HAVE:

• BS in a related field or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of embedded firmware/software development
• Design/Development of driver and application-level firmware, bootloaders, etc.
• C/++ and Python 3
• ARM microcontrollers programming
• Experience with lab instrumentation to debug at the hardware level

NICE TO HAVE:

• React.js or Typescript
• PCB design
• Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience
