Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of FSQA systems, including HACCP, SQF, GMP, and Food Defense programs.
  • Oversee all plant-level food safety and quality operations, including sanitation, microbiological testing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and state dairy regulations, including HTST equipment checks, seal integrity, and dairy ledger reviews 2.
  • Manage internal and external audits (e.g., SQF, FDA, Kosher, Kroger), including corrective action planning and execution 2.
  • Supervise and mentor FSQA team members, including lab technicians, quality auditors, and sanitation staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, R&D) to resolve quality issues and drive root cause analysis.
  • Lead training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development in food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and customer quality inquiries.
  • Monitor and report on FSQA KPIs, trends, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of FSQA experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in dairy processing.
  • Certifications: HACCP, SQF Practitioner, PCQI preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dairy regulations, including pasteurization, container integrity, and milk handling.
  • Demonstrated success in leading audits and managing regulatory inspections.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality systems, data analysis, and documentation.
