We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Grant Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a solid background in grant accounting, budgeting, fund accounting, grant audits, GL, and financials. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the accounting and financial reporting of our grant portfolio. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and challenging projects, and to contribute significantly to our mission by ensuring the effective and efficient use of grant funds.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the financial administration of all grants, including budget preparation, expense analysis, and financial reporting.
2. Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to grantors in accordance with grant agreement terms and conditions.
3. Coordinate with the grant management team to ensure compliance with all grantor financial and audit requirements.
4. Conduct regular grant audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with grantor and company policies.
5. Manage the grant budgeting process, including the preparation of budget revisions and forecasts.
6. Provide technical assistance to program staff in financial management and budgeting of grant funds.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in grant accounting and financial management.
8. Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of grant financial management.
9. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of three years of experience in grant accounting, budgeting, fund accounting, grant audits, GL, and financials.
3. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and grant accounting standards.
4. Proficient in using advanced financial software and databases.
5. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain financial information to non-financial staff.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, demanding, and complex work environment.
