Growing mid sized law firm in Chicago is seeking a full-time mid-level to senior associate attorney with at least 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation to join its growing team!

Job Details

Seeking a full-time mid-level to senior associate attorney with at least 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation. Experience in aviation law, product liability, construction law and/or premises liability preferred, but not required. Trial skills and experience would be an added benefit.

Essential Duties:
  • Complex legal research and analysis
  • Critical assessment of discovery documents and recommendations to advance defenses
  • Regularly handle court appearances, written discovery, motion practice, depositions
  • Work closely with paralegals and staff
  • Communicate with clients and provide written status reports

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required
  • Must be licensed to practice in Illinois; other state’s licenses a plus
  • Excellent research, writing & oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be organized, self-motivated & able to handle files with little supervision
  • Strong analytical & organizational skills
  • Must be able to persevere in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Billable hour target of 2,000 hours annually
