We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, from buildings and infrastructure to water and wastewater systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role requires a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage projects effectively. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be the Engineer of Record for a range of projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met.
Responsibilities
As our Senior Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing a variety of engineering projects, from initial estimation and proposal stages through to completion.
2. Serving as the Engineer of Record, ensuring all projects meet the highest standards of engineering practice and comply with all relevant regulations and codes.
3. Collaborating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to understand project requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
4. Conducting regular site visits to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
5. Leading the design and implementation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
6. Preparing and presenting detailed reports and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
7. Applying your expertise in water and wastewater systems, buildings, and infrastructure.
8. Demonstrating leadership within the team, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Senior Mechanical Engineer position, you should have the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. A valid PE license.
3. A minimum of three years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, including experience in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
4. Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a strong track record of successfully managing engineering projects from start to finish.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex engineering concepts to non-technical audiences.
6. Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
7. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
8. Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
9. Experience in preparing detailed estimates and proposals.
10. Willingness to conduct regular site visits.
11. Knowledge of water and wastewater systems, buildings, and infrastructure would be advantageous.
12. Familiarity with QMP (Quality Management Procedures) is preferred.
