Mechanical Design Engineer

A mid-sized Renewables company is expanding into a new alternative market and needing a Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience designing electrolyzers, batteries and/or fuel cells. A pivotal role on a new product development team.
Based in Arizona and expanding nationally as the near 100 employees, this pre-IPO company combines an amazing culture and a vision to remain at the forefront of alternative energy solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Energy industry. As a Permanent Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for energy storage solutions, including batteries and fuel cells. You will work closely with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for energy storage solutions, including batteries and fuel cells.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
• Conduct research and development to identify new technologies and materials that can be used to improve our products.
• Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for mechanical components and systems.
• Perform simulations and tests to evaluate the performance of mechanical components and systems.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that our products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and reliability.
• Provide technical support to customers and field service personnel as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the energy industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices.
• Experience with battery and fuel cell technologies, including electrolyte batteries.
• Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Experience with simulation software, such as ANSYS or COMSOL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
