Senior Network Engineer (CCNP or CCIE)

Our client is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will define, design, and implement network communications and solution improvements. Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinates network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Continually works with common carriers to expand services. Tracks down network issues and alerts to their root cause and provides incident reviews and proposed changes for those issues.

Responsibilities

• Be comfortable and confident with traditional, and software defined networking solutions in both On-Prem and Public Cloud.
• Experience with AWS Networking, Palo Alto and Cisco network product portfolios
• Experience with IaC, Terraform, and/or Cloud Formation
• Defines, documents, and evolves best practices for system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and monitoring
• Continually creates and pioneer’s automation and configuration management using development best practices
• Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
• Designs and implements best practices around monitoring and incident response
• Helps to make critical product architecture and implementation decisions
• Participates in vendor and purchasing decisions
• Participates in configuration and implementation review
• Builds tools, frameworks, and projects that improve productivity for colleagues
• Able to anticipate and quickly adapt systems and practices to changes in load, usage, and customer requirements

Requirements:

• Certifications (CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, AWS Advanced Networking, etc)
• B.A. or B.S. degree in Computer Science or similar field
• 6+ years of experience in enterprise On-Prem & Cloud networking
• Experience with scripting languages
• Experience within a SaaS organization
• Technical Lead experience or Senior Engineering level experience
• Excellent planning and documentation skills. Written and oral communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with technical/non-technical employees, senior management, and external partners/customers
• Available for on-call rotation
• Ability to demonstrate mature, solid, timely, and professional problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Be self-directed and results/goal oriented
• Must work well with as part of a team
• Ability to install networking equipment
