We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our Commercial Property Accounting team. This key role will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial and accounting services for our extensive portfolio of commercial properties, including shopping centers. The successful candidate will be a part of a fast-paced, high-energy environment, where each day presents new challenges and opportunities. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Property Accountant, you will:
1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of commercial properties.
2. Oversee all aspects of property accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
3. Perform budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and explanations.
4. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
5. Coordinate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
6. Assist with the preparation of year-end tax returns and liaise with external auditors as needed.
7. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the highest level of financial integrity.
8. Provide financial information and analysis to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is highly desirable.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on commercial real estate and shopping centers.
3. Proficient in the use of property management software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
4. Strong understanding of GAAP and other applicable accounting standards and regulations.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
