We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Senior Property Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute significantly to our Accounting + Finance industry. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for a diverse portfolio, including multifamily, residential, and mixed-use properties. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting background, particularly in month-end and year-end close processes, and be familiar with the Property Management Reporting Interface (MRI) software. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all accounting operations for a portfolio of multifamily, residential, and mixed-use properties.
2. Coordinate and complete month-end and year-end close processes.
3. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and provide detailed reports and financial summaries for management.
4. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
5. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
6. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
7. Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
8. Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
9. Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.
10. Assist with financial and tax audits.
11. Use MRI software to manage property accounting and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, particularly with multifamily, residential, and mixed-use properties.
3. Proficient in accounting software, specifically MRI.
4. Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
5. Exceptional knowledge of month-end and year-end close processes.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
8. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
11. CPA certification is a plus.
