Job Details

The Senior Accountant performs professional level accounting work in the maintenance and review of fiscal
records. The position requires considerable knowledge of basic accounting principles, fund accounting and
accounting functions. Initial focus is on affordable multifamily apartments division with possibility for
advancement due to rapid growth of the corporation. This individual is responsible for timely review of financial
reports, manage creation of budgets, job cost, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Additional
responsibilities include maintenance of accounting files, and preparation/organization of various financial forms,
reports, and financial analyses, etc. This individual may be asked to assist with ad-hoc projects and general office
support tasks when necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Final review of multifamily property financial statements for submission to auditors.
  • Resolve and respond to auditor’s, regulatory agency’s and financial partner’s questions.
  • Monthly review of property financials.
  • Submission of monthly and quarterly financial reports to financial and agency partners
  • Manage annual budget process.
  • Submission of annual budgets to agencies and financial partners for approval.
  • Manage quarterly property reserve draws.
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Monthly review of job cost activity ensuring consistent and proper coding.
  • Determination, write-up and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate
that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using
some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Affordable multifamily housing experience preferred.
  • Residential multifamily housing experience desired.
  • Ability to access Yardi accounting software
  • Ability to access and accurately input entries into Abila (MIP) accounting software.
  • Knows AP/AR, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations and GL management.
