Our company is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented and enthusiastic Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take their career to the next level. You will be directly responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of retail properties. This includes but is not limited to, preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and CAM reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Property Accountant, you will:
1. Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of retail properties.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
3. Conduct CAM reconciliations and tenant billings.
4. Work closely with property managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property-level financial results.
5. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
6. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
7. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
8. Utilize Yardi software to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
9. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of property accounting experience, preferably in the retail sector.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. Proficiency in Yardi accounting software is a must.
4. Experience in CAM reconciliations and shopping center accounting.
5. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
10. CPA certification is a plus.
