Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns (individual, partnerships, multistate and corporate).
Research state and local tax legislation and assisting with drafting client responses and memos.
Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline work flow.
Assisting with various state and local state tax consulting projects including sales & use and excise tax overpayment reviews, tax implications of sales and purchase transactions, audit defense services, nexus planning, and voluntary disclosures.
Assisting with engagement workflow management and supervising tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements.
Assisting with preparation of client billings and account reconciliations.
Assisting with drafting new proposal for new and existing clients.
Coordinating with in-house tax preparations team within TMDL and with the clients’ tax department.
Performing a detailed technical review of state and local tax returns on select engagements.
Preparing tax computations, work papers and entries.
Tax planning for clients.
Manage IRS examinations and protests.

Education and Qualification Requirements:
BA/BS degree in Accounting
At least 3 yrs of progressively challenging public accounting experience.
CPA licensure or actively working towards CPA licensure.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Solid Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code
Ability to reason intelligently and use sound judgement.
Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong attention to details
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented
