Software Engineering Manager

My client is one of the most well known software companies in the Philadelphia area. They currently have a need for a Software engineering manager to take over one of their core engineering groups and teams. This role will work directly with the Vp of Software engineering and collaborate with other C level individuals as well. Great autonomy and strong mentorship from seasoned enterprise level leadership.

This role comes with a 15% bonus and is remote. There will be the need to come into the office one or twice a quarter so the preference is to have someone local to the Philly area.

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field required or equivalent experience
8+ years of relevant work experience and 1+ year of proven leadership responsibility
Ability to predict and manage (i.e.: make and meet commitments)
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to build and sustain trust through relationships with others
Leadership in a team environment
General knowledge of other related principles
Demonstrate excellent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Ability to think outside of the box
Able to lead meetings, clearly communicate technical approach, status, assess risk and mitigate

Complete understanding and wide use of technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts in the field
Knowledge of the industry and the software products that are being developed
Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Recognized as an expert and strives for excellence with the ability to mentor and coach other engineers to do the same
Adaptable to change
Network with senior internal and external/partner personnel in own area of expertise
