SUMMARY:

Manage engineering projects and programs of large size, complexity, and duration with a focus on:

  • Equipment deployment
  • Manufacturing process improvement
  • Product development


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, manage, and facilitate multiple projects or programs of large size, complexity, and duration
  • Direct members of the project team including engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and work plans, estimate resources and costs for all stages, and track financial health of projects
  • Work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to define the project scope, goals, and deliverables amid changing and competing priorities
  • Document and track project plan
  • Collaborate with, influence, and gain buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers
  • Maintain continuous alignment of project scope with defined strategic business objectives
  • Communicate both technical and non-technical information to all levels of staff and management
  • Monitor progress and critical path of projects, identify problems impeding progress, and work creatively and analytically demonstrating teamwork and innovation
  • Proactively recommend actions to move project through technical hurdles
  • Develop trusted relationship with project and program stakeholders, sponsors
  • Lead, motivate, and manage various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance
  • Proactively manage scope change requests
  • Provide reports, updates and feedback to management and project team
  • Identify successful and unsuccessful project elements after project completion and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Participate in improving project management best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Mentor other engineering project managers

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Requires one of the following:
o Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field of study and five (5) years of project management related experience, OR
o Associates degree and ten (10) years of project management related experience, OR
o High school diploma or equivalent and fourteen (14) years of project management related experience
  • PMP certification
  • Experience successfully managing and completing multiple large, complex engineering projects
  • Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks, projects, and priorities
