Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Managing full-cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and month-end closing processes.
2. Assisting with financial statement preparation and analysis.
3. Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and statements.
4. Assisting with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
5. Supporting the annual audit process by providing information and answering questions.
6. Managing grant-related accounting, including tracking grant expenditures, preparing financial reports for grantors, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
7. Working closely with non-profit clients to provide financial guidance and support.
8. Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing these changes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
9. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current financial regulations and best practices in non-profit accounting.
10. Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of five years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
3. Prior experience in a non-profit setting, specifically with grant accounting, is strongly preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP.
5. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
10. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
