Job Details

The Senior Accountant – Treasury is responsible for the coordination of activities to enable the fluid execution of funding transactions, reconciling ledger accounts affecting treasury, and participating as a team member in the monthly and annual closing processes. The Senior Accountant - Treasury should be a self-starter and leader, eager to grow and progress.

Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Own the Treasury Operations process:
Serve as primary administrator for all bank applications/online portals, including user access, approvals, new account set up, canceled checks, etc.
Initiate USD and foreign currency ACH/WIRE/Check/Transfer Operations accurately and timely.
Manage AMEX new card set ups and AMEX payments.
Act as a liaison with Cash application accountants and bank contacts to investigate and resolve issues.
Monitor cash flow.
In line with major goals of the department, engage in continuous process improvement efforts to streamline the treasury operations processes.
Support the Accounting team in a variety of areas:
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for US and CAN operations ensuring all accounts are balanced.
Record daily bank activity to the General Ledger, including but not limited to fees, wires, and other non-branch activity.
Communicate with the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and other internal departments to identify and provide correct accounting for unidentified cash transactions.
Work closely with CFO to manage loan/revolver positioning, reporting, cash flow.
Perform other monthly accounting reconciliations, and support accounting team where needed.
Perform walkthroughs and document internal controls around the treasury operations.
Various projects, as needed.
Provide outstanding customer service to our branches, by:
Managing AMEX corporate program including users, payments, access rights, and controls.
Communicate proactively with branch managers and establish leadership support.
Provide training as necessary to branches regarding Treasury operations.

Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or 2+ years of related experience
CPA license not required but preferred
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Outstanding at customer service, especially our internal clients and branches
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, completeness and being a self-starter are key
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and ERP systems
Experience in distribution and/or building and construction industry is preferred
