Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff/Senior Accountant to join our local non-profit team. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a wide range of financial tasks including managing check requests and invoices, preparing financial reports, assisting in audits, and performing budget analysis. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify all check requests and invoices, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
  • Manage the check runs, purchase orders, and vendor set up, ensuring smooth financial operations.
  • Handle 1099's, time and expense management, and provide support for P. card receipts.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed, contributing to the efficient running of the department.
  • Prepare Month End and Year End Reports, providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assist in audits, ensuring all financial records are in compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Prepare variance reports and journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and explained.
  • Perform budget analysis, providing valuable insights into financial performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Contribute to the financial management of a non-profit organization, ensuring financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, including preparation of financial reports, budget analysis, and audit procedures.
  • Experience in managing check requests and invoices, check runs, purchase orders, vendor set up, and 1099's.
  • Proficient in time and expense management, and able to provide support for P. card receipts.
  • Excellent administrative and clerical skills, with the ability to perform duties as needed.
  • Experience in preparing Month End and Year End Reports.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to prepare variance reports and perform budget analysis.
  • Experience in managing credit card reconciliations.
  • Experience in working within a non-profit organization is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
