Job Details:

We are on the hunt for a dynamic and talented Permanent Structural Engineer to join our progressive Engineering firm. This role will offer you the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and challenge your technical skills. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to creating innovative, high-quality structures that stand the test of time. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Structural Engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA 3D.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:

1. Designing, planning and overseeing the construction of new buildings and bridges, or alterations and extensions to existing properties or other structures.
2. Conducting feasibility studies and site inspections to determine the suitability of a location for a proposed construction project.
3. Using AutoCAD and RISA 3D to create detailed structural designs and plans.
4. Liaising with other professionals such as architects, surveyors, and civil engineers to ensure projects are completed accurately and on time.
5. Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects and ensuring they comply with the regulations and codes.
6. Preparing reports, designs, and drawings, making calculations about loads and stresses, and selecting appropriate construction materials.
7. Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors to ensure structural soundness.
8. Administering contracts and managing projects, and inspecting properties to check conditions/foundations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree will be considered an advantage.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in Structural Engineering.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA 3D.
4. Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
5. Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
6. Ability to manage projects and lead a team.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
10. Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
