We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and patient-focused Surgical Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in a fast-paced, high-tech operating room environment. As a Surgical Technician, you will work closely with our surgical team in preparing for and assisting during a wide range of surgical procedures. This role requires a high degree of technical competence, a deep understanding of surgical procedures, and a strong commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation and set up of the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready and properly functioning.
2. Participate in patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping according to the surgeon's protocol.
3. Maintain a sterile field during surgery, anticipating the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies in a timely manner.
4. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
5. Assist with cleaning and restocking the operating room, preparing for the next patient.
6. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
7. Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
8. Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Qualifications:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or in a similar role.
3. Proficient knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology.
4. Outstanding knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, with the ability to anticipate surgeon's needs.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and patients.
6. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
7. Good physical stamina and endurance, able to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
8. Must be able to handle the physical and emotional stress of the operating room environment.
9. Willingness to participate in continuous professional development and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.
10. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
