Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Prepare and maintain the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are sterile and functioning properly before procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating needs.
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile field.
- Monitor and account for surgical instruments and supplies throughout the procedure.
- Assist in patient positioning and draping under the supervision of the surgical team.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper labeling.
- Perform post-operative tasks, including cleaning and restocking the operating room for the next procedure.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
