Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments are sterile and functioning properly before procedures.
  • Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating needs.
  • Adhere to strict aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile field.
  • Monitor and account for surgical instruments and supplies throughout the procedure.
  • Assist in patient positioning and draping under the supervision of the surgical team.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper labeling.
  • Perform post-operative tasks, including cleaning and restocking the operating room for the next procedure.

Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT is required.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
