We are on the hunt for a highly skilled and enthusiastic Permanent Tax Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. This role is perfect for a professional who is passionate about tax accounting and thrives in a fast-paced, high energy environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements, as well as providing support to our clients in the area of taxation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who has a strong understanding of financial accounting, GAAP, and tax accounting.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare federal, state and local income tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements.
2. Utilize CCH software for tax preparation and research.
3. Analyze and minimize tax liabilities with the use of tax laws and regulations.
4. Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
5. Consult with clients to resolve tax discrepancies, provide financial and tax planning advice.
6. Conduct periodic account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
7. Keep up-to-date with changes in tax regulations to maintain compliance and provide accurate advice.
8. Liaise with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other government agencies on behalf of clients.
9. Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes, improve reporting, and assist with financial forecasting.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role dealing with individual taxes and small business tax.
4. Proficiency in tax preparation software, specifically CCH.
5. Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial accounting.
6. Proven experience in tax accounting and account reconciliation.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines efficiently.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
