Tax Associate

We are a small local CPA group seeking a Tax Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a general understanding of finance and accounting best practices, and have interest in working our Partners to learn Tax best practices. This role is perfect for candidates who are recent graduates looking to break into public accounting, as well as individuals with 1-2 years of experience as a Tax Associate with another CPA firm looking to take the next step of their career. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and compensation package.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
• Conduct tax research and provide tax planning advice to clients
• Assist with tax audits and respond to tax notices
• Communicate with clients and tax authorities to resolve tax issues
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Participate in the development of internal tax policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong understanding of debits and credits
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or tax preparation software
• Prior public accounting experience or internships is a major bonus
• Prior experience with tax compliance and advisory services is a bonus
• CPA, CPA Eligible, or Enrolled Agent certification preferred
