Job Details

Responsibilities of position:

· Input wage, supply, contractor, tax return info, and R&D allocations into calculation to calculate R&D credits
· Create control group statements and control group calculation templates
· Analyze and organize extensive data time tracking from clients utilizing vlookup, pivot tables, and conditional formulas to derive R&D project lists and contractor and employee R&D percentages to discuss during interviews
· Create interview sheets from client data to be used as a guide during calls with clients
· Take notes during R&D interviews to confirm R&D percentages and project details
· Analyze the calculation and make judgment calls on percentages and what to exclude/include in the calculation such as cutoffs for what contractors or projects to include
· Superform: Create Form 6765 for federal R&D credits, Form 3523 for California R&D credits, Form RDC for Virginia R&D credits, Texas R&D credit form, and Maryland R&D form deliverables then reconcile forms w/ audit attachments for error before delivery to client
· Review, finalize, and password protect executive summaries/audit reports
· Research R&D tax rules online and over the phone for other states i.e. Virginia, Utah, and Maryland
· Review, edit, and finalize Form 6765 and R&D reports to be delivered to clients
· Calculate R&D credit estimates for potential new clients
· Input information into the calculation and clean up extensive raw data from time tracking
· Compile audit item requests from clients with tax credit audits
· Verify tax filing deadlines for C corps, S-corps/partnerships, and etc
· Have a thorough understanding of how the R&D credit calculation model works and be able to critically think about any adaptations that must be made


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Tax or Accounting with 5+ years of tax compliance and consulting experience
  • CPA license (preferred, but not required)
