Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Tax & Audit for our thriving medical organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their expertise in a mission-driven environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all tax and audit activities, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, and overseeing the organization's financial risk management.
Qualifications:
- Direct and manage all aspects of the organization's tax planning, compliance, and audit functions.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position.
- Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Coordinate and manage all audit activities, including internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement internal controls and financial procedures to ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the organization's financial risk management, including identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the CFO and other financial leaders to develop and implement financial strategies and plans.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the tax and audit team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure the organization is in compliance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the CFO and the board of directors.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) is strongly preferred
- 10 years related experience
- Non-profit / Healthcare experience required
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
- Proven experience in managing tax and audit functions
- Experience with accounting software, inter-fund accounting for subsidiary entities
- Microsoft Office suite & Excel required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
