Job Details

We are looking for an experienced CPA (7-10 years experience) to expand our growing team as a senior tax manager. Our ideal candidate would enjoy working with closely-held businesses and individuals to solve common to complex tax situations, especially for profitable businesses and high-net-worth individuals, in an advisory and compliance-based role.

To succeed in this role, the candidate should have strong technical tax experience in collaborating with a team to provide both individual and business income tax advisory, planning and compliance services. The ability to work remotely with clients and teammates successfully will require excellent communication and time management skills as we work in a primarily virtual, high-productivity environment.

While technical and client-management skills are important in this role, we are also a close-knit team looking for a great fit for our team and clients. Responsibilities
  • Review and delivery of both individual and business tax engagements for closely-held businesses and individuals
  • Building client relationships, including being a point of contact, taking ownership of client-related projects and collaborating on tax strategies and issues to help generate potential solutions
  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, S corp, C corp, fiduciary, and non-profit income tax returns and extensions for a diverse client base. Federal and Multi-state.
  • Complete responsibility for managing client relationships
  • Willing to be on top of new technical issues, research and assist the other tax consultants in their technical understanding.
  • Tax Planning. Including but not limited to working with attorneys in the office to structure client’s businesses in a tax efficient manner and assist in implementing structure.
  • Research and resolve federal and state income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax issues.
  • Respond and resolve client tax notices from IRS and state agencies.
  • Work with peers to research and solve tax issues and to further understand tax laws.
  • Prepare and review personal property tax returns, payroll tax returns, estimated tax payments, depreciation schedules
  • Analyze client prepared financial statements in order to be able to prepare an accurate tax return. Booking adjusting journal entries.


Requirements
  • Active CPA license
  • Technological proficiency, including Excel, Word and tax software
  • Combination of academic and work experience in tax compliance and advisory services, preferably with at least ten years of experience including small to a mid-sized public accounting firm
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent, or significant tax compliance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years minimum experience in tax compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Quickbooks
  • Lacerte software – knowledge a plus but not required
  • Strong interpersonal / communication skills and desire collaborate/interact with peers and clients.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients/projects/deadlines efficiently.
  • Detail oriented. Organized. Self-Motivated.
