Tax Manager OR Tax Senior

We are a local established CPA firm. In this role, you will lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services to our clients. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of federal and state income taxes for partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts and individuals. You will build new and existing client relationships and manage multiple clients, budgets, and production goals. You will prepare internal memoranda, written correspondence, and other documents for submission to the IRS or Treasury Department. You will manage, develop, and mentor staff on projects and assess their performance through formal periodic reviews and informal feedback. You will assist partners with billing the clients you manage. This position offers competitive compensation including a transparent bonus program and a comprehensive benefit package.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in Accounting
• CPA Certification
• 6 or more years prior experience in public accounting tax experience
• Significant supervisory experience (2 years plus) which includes educating and developing the technical ability of staff and seniors
• Strong accounting and analytical skills
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Tax software (CCH Pro-fx /Axcess tax and engagement – a plus), Excel, QuickBooks, Excel, Word
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Detail oriented & ability to multi-task
• Ability to interpret the U.S. tax code, research the implications of tax laws and advise clients on tax related issues in diverse industries
• Reconcile tax data on financial statements
• Plan, direct, and execute various tax projects
• Perform research, develop tax-saving strategies and prepare/review technical tax memorandums
