Job Details

Tax supervisor/manager: Position will focus on individuals and trusts and develop tax plans and review individual, trust, and not-for-profit estimates and tax returns, participate in personal financial and estate planning initiatives, provide leadership to internal and external teams, and manage the production of various financial reports.

Education and/or work experience requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business field and one more advanced degree (JD, MBA, MS Accounting, MS Taxation) or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • At least 4 years working in professional positions in taxation.
  • Prior experience working in public accounting or with individual clients of significant wealth, particularly in the wealth management field.
  • Complex Passthrough entity , trust and individual tax: 4 years (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
  • Strong technical tax and trust knowledge.
  • Experience with pass-through entities and their owners.
  • SALT and business tax experience would be a plus.
  • Strong IT problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify, communicate and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Move between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
  • Willingness to make decisions using sound and accurate judgment.
  • Ability to determine relevant information to provide to decision-makers and make recommendations.
Core Responsibilities

Prepare or review tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork, and reports for clients.
Oversee the tax and trust administration efforts on behalf of individuals, trusts, and foundations.
Inform the manager or director regarding the status of projects regularly.
Review or prepare various financial reports.
Review or prepare quarterly tax estimates.
Research and analyze tax laws applicable to various situations and document conclusions
Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.
Work directly with clients and third-party providers.
Provide leadership, training, and career mentorship to staff team members.
