Job Details
As a Tax Manager, your responsibilities include:
Preparing personal and entity tax returns, including complex cases.
Reviewing tax returns and work files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Managing workloads and delegating tax work to staff members.
Monitoring tax deadlines and addressing any tax issues promptly.
Supervising tax planning for entities and complex personal tax returns.
Handling tax examinations and preparing responses to tax notices.
Conducting tax research and training staff in this area.
Informing clients or staff members of tax options and possible outcomes.
Initiating new work for existing clients and seeking operational efficiencies.
Staying updated on new legislation and educating staff and clients.
Acting as a resource for staff, senior accountants, managers, and partners.
Overseeing tax and tax planning software to ensure optimal configuration.
Interacting with clients and fostering strong client relationships.
Contributing to the client service team with high-quality work and attentive service.
Continuously enhancing your skills through professional education and development programs.
Collaborating with other tax professionals and preparing an annual marketing plan.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
Advanced degree (e.g., law or master’s in taxation) or enrollment in an advanced degree program.
Completion of career development programs to enhance management, communication, and personal skills.
Minimum seven years of experience in accounting or tax return preparation.
Proficiency in computer and tax software applications.
CPA certification.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
