We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, detail-oriented Tax Manager with a strong background in public accounting to join our dynamic Finance team. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity to lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. You will be responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of your respective area, while ensuring our clients receive top-notch service.

Responsibilities

As a Tax Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Managing and coordinating tax audits and tax returns including preparing all necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns.
2. Sharing tax knowledge to the internal tax team within the firm, fostering a learning environment and ensuring staff are trained and up-to-date with current tax practices.
3. Advising clients on tax-related issues, providing strategic and practical guidance to businesses on their tax liabilities.
4. Reviewing complex income tax returns to identify and mitigate tax risks.
5. Coordinating with tax staff and supervising their performance.
6. Liaising with external auditors and tax agents.
7. Implementing tax software and applications such as CCH Axcess and Prosystems Tax for efficient tax processing and reporting.
8. Keeping abreast with industry developments and changes in tax laws to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Tax Manager position should have the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. At least 5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax.
3. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
4. Proficient in tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
5. Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
6. Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
7. Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
8. Analytical skills with detail orientation.
9. Proficiency in relevant tax software such as CCH Axcess and Prosystems Tax.
10. Experience with Quickbooks and other financial software.
11. Strong experience with income tax preparation.
