Job Details
As a Territory Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales and business growth within a defined territory, which includes Southern California, Nevada, and parts of Utah. You will be tasked with managing relationships with a broad range of accounts, including gas stations, convenience stores, retail outlets, and casinos. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a proven track record in sales or account management.
This position requires frequent travel, including overnight stays (8-10 nights per month), and the ability to work efficiently while managing your own schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Growth & Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while prospecting for new accounts. Focus on driving sales growth and achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Account Management: Manage and nurture a portfolio of accounts across Southern California, Nevada, and parts of Utah, providing exceptional service and support to meet their needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the territory by introducing our products to potential customers and establishing long-term business partnerships.
Territory Planning & Execution: Strategically plan sales routes, schedules, and account visits to maximize sales opportunities and ensure effective time management. Prioritize high-potential accounts while ensuring that all accounts receive the attention they need.
Product Education & Training: Educate customers on new products, promotions, and industry trends to drive sales and ensure that they are fully informed of product offerings.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Provide regular updates to the management team on sales activities, market conditions, and territory performance. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales, and territory reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and logistics to ensure timely product delivery and address any account-related issues.
Key Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years in outside sales, preferably in the tobacco, consumer goods, or beverage industry, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals. Experience managing a large territory is a plus.
Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with a variety of customers, from small convenience stores to large retail chains and casinos.
Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and stay motivated while managing a large territory. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Customer-Centric: A focus on customer satisfaction and the ability to identify and address customer needs quickly and efficiently.
Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to resolve issues and adapt to changing market conditions.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 50-60% of the time, including overnight stays (8-10 nights per month), to meet with customers and service accounts in the assigned territory.
Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
