We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tool & Die Maker to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and creating the tools and dies that are essential in our manufacturing processes. This role involves working with a variety of machines and tools, including CNC machines, to create and repair tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. The Tool & Die Maker will also be responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to produce high-quality tools and dies. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in the manufacturing/metal industry to showcase their skills and contribute to our team.
Responsibilities:
1. Construct and repair a wide range of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for the manufacturing process.
2. Operate and program CNC machines to produce precision parts.
3. Interpret blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
4. Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects, ensuring high-quality output.
5. Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure parts meet specifications, making necessary adjustments as required.
6. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand tool requirements and develop solutions.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
8. Keep records of all tools, dies, and jigs created or repaired, and maintain an inventory of necessary materials and parts.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Tool & Die Maker in the manufacturing/metal industry.
2. Proficient in operating and programming CNC machines.
3. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
4. Excellent knowledge of metal properties and machining procedures.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong collaborative skills.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in tool and die making is highly desirable.
9. Physically capable of performing the duties of the role, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
