A bit about us:

The successful candidate will be part of the team involved in all aspects of engineering and design of electric utility substations and lines including supervision and checking of junior engineers and designers. Must be able to work with minimal guidance. Responsibilities will include detail engineering and support of transmission and distribution line projects from conceptual design through construction for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic additions.

Utilize various client information systems to retrieve information and to deliver design packages. Projects may include travel to client sites in the United States as needed to perform job functions such as acquiring field data necessary to prepare the appropriate design. The successful candidate will need to coordinate the design and engineering activities with other disciplines such as Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and others. This position will report to the General Manager, Energy Services.

Job Details

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (BSCE) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited college or university.
4 or more years of experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, and development of construction bid packages. (Underground Transmission design experience up to 230kV is a bonus).
Working knowledge of industry standards regarding transmission lines from ASCE, Cigre,, IEC and IEEE, NESC and GO-95.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software products.
Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, MFAD/HFAD.
Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and apply individual judgment, initiative and decision making.
The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with clients, equipment vendors and construction contractors.
Must possess a valid driver's license to drive to client sites and between branch offices. Nationwide travel occasionally.
PE License in the United States desirable but nor required or the willingness to obtain a PE in additional states, as necessary.
The ability to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Strong understanding of statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials.
A completed Model Law NCEES record.
Inter-disciplinary engineering experience.
Construction Support and field support services experience.
