Transportation Manager

Jobot is looking for a Transportation Manager experienced in nationwide, perishable foods distribution (short shelf-life food distribution is a plus). This individual will direct the activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles all over the United States daily.

This person will be…

• Assigning customer orders onto trucks creating multiple stops loads and communicate with drivers, dispatch and our Shipping team.

• Monitor load locations and trailer temperatures.

• Delivery Appointment Scheduling.

• Schedule and monitor inventory transfer trucks between Florida warehouses.

• Handling investigations to verify and resolve customer and carrier complaints.

• Bringing new carriers to the pool of providers to improve efficiency and lower costs.

• Collaborate with company leaders to negotiate rates for written agreements.

• Audit carrier invoices validating accuracy.

• Collaborating with company leaders to formulate and implement transportation related procedures, KPI’s as well as company revenue goals and customer objectives.

• Solving in-transit transportation issues quickly.

• Set up new customer delivery schedules.

• Create, implement, and monitor holiday logistics plans, trade shows and special events.

• After hours and weekend coverage rotation required.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience as a transportation manager in a perishable foods industry.

• Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.

• Critical thinking skills, experience with computer information systems and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work well with team members and navigate challenging situations.

• Excellent leadership skills
