Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Director specializing in Trusts to join our team. The Tax Director will play a critical role in providing strategic tax planning and compliance services to our clients with complex trust structures. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of trust taxation regulations, demonstrate strong leadership abilities, and have a track record of delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement tax strategies for clients with complex trust structures to optimize tax efficiency and minimize liabilities.
Provide expert guidance and advice on trust tax matters, including income tax, gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax.
Stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws, regulations, and rulings related to trusts and effectively communicate changes to clients and the team.
Review and prepare complex trust tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Conduct comprehensive tax research and analysis on trust-related issues to provide sound recommendations to clients.
Collaborate with other professionals, such as attorneys and financial advisors, to develop integrated wealth management strategies for clients.
Manage and supervise a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service, addressing client concerns, and identifying opportunities for additional services.
Assist with business development efforts, including identifying new client prospects and participating in networking activities to expand the firm's trust practice.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., Master's in Taxation) is highly desirable.
CPA designation is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in trust taxation, preferably in a public accounting firm or a similar professional services environment.
In-depth knowledge of trust taxation laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in handling complex trust structures and providing tax planning strategies to high-net-worth individuals and families.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex tax issues and provide accurate recommendations.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of effectively leading and developing a team.
Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and team members effectively.
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
Proficient in tax software and technology tools commonly used in public accounting firms.
