We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Union Payroll Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of the payroll department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all operations. You will be responsible for managing the payroll for unionized employees, ensuring all aspects are handled correctly, including wage deductions, benefits, and union dues.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Union Payroll Manager, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that will require your full expertise. Key responsibilities include:
1. Overseeing the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of union payroll, including benefits and deductions.
3. Developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures to ensure best practices.
4. Managing relationships with union representatives, addressing any payroll concerns or disputes.
5. Auditing payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with union agreements and government regulations.
6. Collaborating with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless integration and accuracy of payroll data.
7. Preparing and presenting payroll reports to senior management.
8. Keeping up to date with changes in union agreements, labor laws, and tax laws that may impact payroll.
9. Training and supervising payroll staff, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest payroll procedures and regulations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Union Payroll Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll, with a focus on union payroll management.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
4. Proficiency in payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Strong understanding of union agreements and how they impact payroll.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex payroll issues.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both union representatives and senior management.
8. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
9. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred but not required.
