POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Logistics will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s supply chain polices, objectives and initiatives. They will lead, train and mentor a team while overseeing the company’s inventory, warehousing, distribution functions with a major organizational impact. The successful candidate will be comfortable pivoting between “rolling up their sleeves” to manage and delegate responsibilities on day-to-day tactical issues as well as mapping out and executing strategic initiatives. The ability to make data driven decisions will be critical and the Vice President, Logistics will have to work with other internal stakeholders to identify what data is needed, how to interpret it, and how to react.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead, hire, train, mentor and develop an initial team of up to 5 people to exceed service level expectations. Delegating responsibilities is critical to the growth of the team, and the supply chain organization, while making a positive impact for our client’s operations.
  • Manage the team through making tactical decisions and improving processes while focusing on developing and executing a strategic plan.
  • Re-formulate and streamline the supply chain operation model/process to improve operations costs, inventory control, on time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop innovative solutions and drive strategic process improvements across the global supply chain to maintain our client’s competitive advantage.
  • Direct procurement, distribution, transportation, and order fulfilment.
  • Manage budget and implement continuous improvement projects and performance metrics to improve financial performance.
  • Improve supplier performance metrics and incoming quality through Lean processes to achieve best in class results.
  • Implement changes to purchasing process to create lower inventory levels and shorter material lead times.
  • Implement key performance metrics with key suppliers resulting in significant improvement in on time delivery and product quality.
  • Oversee warehousing operations, including development of a more advanced logistics network to support growth requirements.
  • Must have the ability to travel to suppliers, lab locations, etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong computer skills including TMS.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and delegate as necessary.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Healthcare or related industry experience preferred.
  • Senior management experience.
  • Experience managing people including cross-functional team management.
