Job Details

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Provide complete management and oversight for clinical lab operations while being a hands-on leader willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure the highest quality of work output
  • Budgeting for multiple projects, including monitoring and controlling costs
  • Identifying, training, and developing leaders within the company and setting them on a path for management
  • Ensuring clinical development is properly resourced, managed, and executed in accordance with timelines and good quality practices
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape to stay abreast of new initiatives and ways to remain an industry leader
  • Work closely with HR to implement and refine company policies and procedures
  • Facilitate leadership development within the company
  • Overseeing compliance with relevant regulations and policies
  • Creating and implementing strategic plans
  • Represent the company for internal and external events
  • Participate in the review, planning, and implementation of clinical development include evaluating hypothesis, objectives, studies, feasibility, regulatory requirements, and problems that may impede the study

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong working knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Team-Player willing to lead from the front
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience working in an executive management capacity for a Clinical Laboratory.

  • Must have a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) prior to the hire date (Tennessee Medical Laboratory Board certification required within first 6 months of employment)
  • Tennessee State Supervisor license required prior to employment as well
  • Bachelors level degree required (prefer physical, biological, chemical science or degree in medical laboratory science/tech from CAHEA or NAACLS)
  • Masters degree is highly preferred (business or healthcare preferred)
