We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Vice President of Loan Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of loan servicing and operational compliance for our national banking platform. This executive will play a critical role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across our lending portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in banking operations, SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness, with a proven track record in managing large-scale loan operations within a publicly traded financial institution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing loan servicing teams, overseeing loan operations, and leading commercial processing functions. They should bring hands-on experience in bank loan operations and demonstrate deep expertise in SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit processes. Proven leadership in a publicly traded financial institution is essential. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable working fully on-site and possess experience in budgeting, project updates, and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all loan operations, including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing of commercial loans.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including SOX and FDICIA.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risks and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Coordinate and manage audits, both internal and external, and implement necessary changes to address any identified issues.
  • Oversee the general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the department's budget, ensuring alignment with the company's financial objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of P&L statements, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Drive profitability and operational efficiency through continuous process improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the company's goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field. An advanced degree or relevant professional certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in loan operations, preferably in the mortgage industry.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial loans, SOX, internal controls, audits, FDICIA, general ledger, budget, P&L, and profit & loss.
  • Strong knowledge of banking regulations and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
