Job Details
Must Have the following qualifications:
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of technical school, or full apprenticeship program (Preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years set-up experience as a machinist with metal shop fabrication, welding, cutting, sanding, assembly, and installation.
- Ability to read prints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Ability to use mig and tig welders
- Experience with use of cold saw and band saws
- Grinding up to 6” disc/sanding “DA” /Die Cutters
- Drilling “ hand held and press”/ Milling
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Welding, cutting and fabricating of metals and parts
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment such as welders, cold saw, band saw, mill, and general tools in area and ensure they do not compromise safety
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
- Utilizes precision instruments including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, depth micrometer, and other inspection equipment as needed
- Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects. Measure and cut metal materials to specified dimensions.
- Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations.
- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work and/or fabrication.
- General metal shop fabrication, welding, cutting, sanding, assembly, and installation.
