Job Details

Must Have the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of technical school, or full apprenticeship program (Preferred)
  • Minimum five (5) years set-up experience as a machinist with metal shop fabrication, welding, cutting, sanding, assembly, and installation.
  • Ability to read prints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Ability to use mig and tig welders
  • Experience with use of cold saw and band saws
  • Grinding up to 6” disc/sanding “DA” /Die Cutters
  • Drilling “ hand held and press”/ Milling

Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Welding, cutting and fabricating of metals and parts
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment such as welders, cold saw, band saw, mill, and general tools in area and ensure they do not compromise safety
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Utilizes precision instruments including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, depth micrometer, and other inspection equipment as needed
  • Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects. Measure and cut metal materials to specified dimensions.
  • Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations.
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work and/or fabrication.
  • General metal shop fabrication, welding, cutting, sanding, assembly, and installation.
