We are seeking a dynamic, driven, and experienced Workers Compensation Defense Attorney to join our thriving legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in defense work, specifically in the area of workers' compensation. You will be responsible for handling a caseload of workers' compensation cases, from inception through resolution. With a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, the candidate should be well-versed in all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation. Responsibilities:
1. Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
2. Prepare legal documents and pleadings, such as motions and briefs.
3. Conduct discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document requests.
4. Represent clients at pre-trial hearings, settlement conferences, trials and other court appearances.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in disputes with workers' compensation insurers.
6. Stay updated on the latest developments in workers' compensation law and incorporate them into your practice.
7. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the efficient and effective handling of cases.
8. Provide superior customer service to all clients, including maintaining regular communication and providing regular updates on case progress.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense litigation.
4. Proven track record of successfully defending clients in workers' compensation cases.
5. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
6. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes favorably for clients.
7. Ability to manage a large caseload and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain strong relationships with clients and communicate legal information in a clear and understandable manner.
9. Proficiency with legal research software and other legal technology.
10. Commitment to adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards.
